MISSIONS:

Paige reported that we had $231.00 in rented ornaments for our Mission tree, with the money going to the Kids to Go program.  $815.00 will be split between Pro Papa and the NF Fire Company. $250.00 was given to Ken Hughes to take to Florida for flood relief, to do with as he saw fit.  The Easter Envelope offering will go the Mountain Mission and the Squirrel Hill Hunt Club. Paige explained a little about the Hunt Club’s mission. It is to provide a hunting experience for young people with terminal illness’ and disabled veterans. They also provide respite for care-givers. They estimate that they spend approximately $5,000.00 to $8.000.00 per person. This is a wonderful mission in our own backyard. Deb suggested that we have Sue and/or Gary Buckles speak at one of Lenten services. Paige said she would look into it.

The Ladies Tea is scheduled for May 4 in the Fellowship Hall. It was well received last year and we are looking forward to it again this year.  Paige has an idea for the “entertainment” for the tea. She is looking in to “Colors of the Church”. Should be very interesting.  She would also like to purchase 2 dozen more cookbooks from the Library. These books are given to the MHC recipients and they seem to appreciate receiving one.  Audrey Perry is working with others to try to devise a cookbook that uses items we have in the pantry.
